Extra,extra read all about it!
Let's take a peek into our world
As you know last Friday, Jan. 22nd we had a half day due to incoming inclement weather. Therefore, all of the assessments that were scheduled last week will be done this Monday - Friday. Please continue to study each night to prepare for these assessments. We will not be having any additional quizzes this week and will continue to review the skills in all classes from last week's lessons.
In addition, Ms. Barry will continue to B.A.S students in both her 2nd & 4th Grade Reading classes. Please make sure that your child is reading for at least 15 minutes each day. As mentioned prior to our holiday break that we would be introducing a new computer adaptive remediation tool for both reading and math purchased for us by our illustrious Principal, Mary Robson - named I-Ready. A hot pink letter was sent home last Friday, Jan. 22nd with my 2nd grade students informing you of this new program and providing you with your child's username and password. All of my upper grade students have their username and passwords stapled in their agenda books. Please keep this information handy and where ever you go your child can login and begin to work. Also, make sure that your child spends at least 15 minutes a day using this fun program as it helps them to make overall academic improvements in both math and reading. (Please see below) I-Ready & Response to Intervention: Diverse student groups—from those who need the highest levels of intervention to those who need very little intervention beyond regular classroom instruction—experience success with i-Ready because it is truly adaptive to learners at all levels of development and because the structure of the program supports different types of learners. Well, until next time when you stop by to take a peek into our world. Have an AWESOME week!
